I n s p i r a t i o n  -  S e r i e s  L o g o

After I read the brief and the requirements for a series logo, I wanted to create a stamp style logo that could be adapted to a variety of materials. I wanted to use something that visually resonated with the 1930's, in order to fit in with the cover design, as well as tie in with the narrative. Whilst researching I came across fashion, as well as jewellery, and I was particularly drawn to the cameo brooch. A very simple 30's brooch, but felt I could play with the silhouette by filling it with the required text 'A Murder Most Unladylike Mystery'. I feel it still evokes that era but a modern way of playing with it.

I chose the Rockwell type, used in the cover, within the logo, to retain a consistent visual language.

I can envisage the logo adapting well to a range of colours, products, merchandise and marketing materials due to its simplicity. It also works well within the series of 10 books too.
